The Despotic Program of Ursula von der Leyen 2024-2029: The EU Towards Authoritarianism

As reported by Public, the European Union wants to force big tech companies and social media platforms to engage in mass censorship on the internet through the controversial Digital Service Act (DSA) sponsored by a former French military contractor, Thierry Breton.
Currently, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, already at the center of the “Pfizergate” scandal, was elected by the European Parliament for a second term.
Now, the European Commission will continue the work of the previous one and intensify the push towards mass censorship on the web under the pretext of combating fake news and disinformation, as confirmed by the political program presented today by Ursula von der Leyen, which contains some explanatory passages of what the Union will do in the coming months. A political program worthy of George Orwell’s 1984.
“We will start by focusing on the implementation and enforcement of the digital laws adopted during the last mandate. Tech giants must assume responsibility for their enormous systemic power in our society and economy. We have begun the active enforcement of the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act. We will ramp up and intensify our enforcement in the coming mandate,” confirms Ursula von der Leyen in the document published today, emphasizing the intention to continue with the implementation of the Digital Service Act.
